I am banded!

:) Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers. Everything went great.

I have gas pain but it is getting better.

I do have a question........can I turn on my side or sleep on my side? It isn't going to screw anything up, is it? Because it feels really tender where the port is and I am scared of "pulling it out" or something. My friend, Jeff, who was banded a couple of years ago tells me that I am not going to hurt anything by turning. I want more opinions!

Thanks!

You won't pull it out, but it will probably be too uncomfortable to lie on for a few days. Every day gets better. So glad that all is going well. Take it easy and keep drinking that water! Congratulations, you're a "Bandster"!

Lainie, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! The gas will go away. I was banded 4 weeks ago and I layed on my sides whatever feels comfortable. I usually sleep on my stomach but the first couple of days I couldn't. I got smart, I got me a soft pillow and layed my stomach on it. This worked for me considering I hate sleeping on my back.

Lainie,

I slept on my port first nite and ever nite since.

The other day I was at Home Depot picking up supplys and I leaned over to get an item out ot he bottom of the cart and it rolled forward and I landed on edge of cart right on the port. I almost panic thinking I tore it from the muscle. But as it turns out the embarasment of almost falling on my butt was worse then the pain to the port area.. It survived and it did take almost all of the 263 pounds of me right on it.
