So I was approved by my insurance for Gastric Sleeve Surgery. My date is June 1st and I am super excited. I am just still worried something could mess it up. Is there anything that could make them change my surgery date? Is there anything that could make my insurance recall my approval or change their minds? Am I just be crazy? Please let me know, it will help me to determine if there is any validity to my fears. Thank you guys!

I was worried about that too, but it did not happen. I think they approve for a time frame.

I really hope that is true. I have done so much to get approved, and I am so ready to start my journey. It's always on my mind. I signed up at a gym today, and I have been trying to be even better about my food. Next week I have my preoperative education class, doctors appointment and an additional clearance thing from the hospital where I am having my surgery. I assume they will be telling me when to start my preoperative diet, ect... But none of this is stopping me from being worried that the surgery won't actually go through. I think I am gonna worry until I am on the operating table.

Thanks for responding, I hope your right. ????

No you are fine. Unless you are the first patient of the day there could be a delay in getting you in the OR, but that's typical for any hospital/procedure. Emergencies happen from time to time. However your approval will not be recalled and your surgery will indeed happen.

Your surgery date won't get pulled. Good for you for getting started!! Eating better now will make things easier later since its a lifestyle change and not a diet. The way I looked at it any pounds I can lose now means I get even more pounds off with the surgery, I didn't want to gain anything to just have to lose it again...there IS NO overthinking right? lol

Your surgery shouldn't be cancelled by insurance unless you lose your insurance. Your doctor shouldn't cancel unless he/she has some type of emergency or there is a major medical crisis at your hospital. As long as you stay healthy, you should be fine. If you have a fever, cold, or flu they could postpone it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
