Hello! Ann in Texas here. Scheduled for gastric sleeve with Dr. Almanza on May 19th. Very excited to begin the weight loss journey using my new tool. I have been overweight for over 10 years, resulting in more and more medical conditions as I age. I have lost the same 30 pounds at least four times.

I am looking to the gastric sleeve as a tool for better health for a better quality of life. I am a very active person who enjoys the outdoors and all it has to offer. I like camping, boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and Jeeping off road. I hope to live a long life and do all the things I enjoy with my active (skinny) husband.

I hope to meet others to support me through the journey, as I am self pay and going to Mexico Weight Loss Agents for my procedure. I have used on-line forums in the past and feel they are a wonderful resource for support and knowledge. My mother has had lap band for over four years and been very successful. She is very supportive, but I like the resource of the on-line community.

Welcome Ann. I'm around the Dallas area and I chose Almanza too. It was a little over 2 years ago. I liked the guy. I'm sure you have read or heard of the stories about him. In my experience he was excellent. The staff was helpful, I was never alone or afraid, and they took care of everything i needed. i cannot say that I was in luxurious surroundings but it was more than adequate and i lacked for nothing.

Almanza gave me just what I asked for, I had no complications or problems, and the sleeve he gave me works like a charm. It does not stretch, it certainly isn't too big, and it is highly effective.

sharonintx, I have two friends who used Dr. Almanza and he came highly recommended by them. Glad you have positive things to say as well. It can get a bit overwhelming at times reading all the stories!
