To gulp or to sip?

Hi guys, I'm still on the liquid stage of the post op diet but I am taking in too much air when I drink.

I keep hiccuping after drinking which may be a good sign but it hurts.

Generally about 2-4 mins after drinking I get really bad trapped wind in my chest and as I am unable to burp it gets stuck and feels sore. I can get rid of this with Windeeze but it takes some time.

Is it better to gulp drinks (thought being ill take on less air) or sip little bit by little bit??

Any ideas on how I can take in less air??

Very many thanks in advance!

Hi there, full liquids can be hard for me to swallow sometimes -- like a protein shake. there's just something about it even now when I am 16 months out and can eat most anything provided it's chewed very well and I stop at the full signal. I definitely wouldn't try glugging -- stick with sipping and give your doctor a call so they know what's up. Best wishes and congratulations!
