Drinking Water?

The past couple days when I sip water my stomach feels ill afterward. Anyone know why this happens to some patients? I've tried warm, cold, room temp and I just feel a little ill for a moment. Thanks! :)

@@Amy86 ..I am still pre-op, but read on another thread someone advising when this happens to only get enough Water in your mouth to wet it and let it slide down like saliva. And of course be sure you are not drinking with food and have waited the appropriate time after eating to be drinking. ...

I recently had the surgery (02/15) and the first weeks i was having the same issue. I tried warm water too but i still felt i couldn't reach my goal. I told my doctor on my first visit and he immediately identified that I was dehydrated. he explained that its like a circle. my stomach was still very swollen which prevented me from getting my liquids which caused dehydration and dehydration causes the stomach to get more swollen. so the very next day they put me on an IV. they gave me 4 liters and i was really tired. when i woke up i felt 100 times better! and now i am way better at keeping up with my liquid intake.
