1 week out post op.

Has anyone gone against doctors orders and moved into the 2 weeks puréed stage after the first week? Is it bad to do so? Opinions? Issues?

People have. I did not. I do NOT recommend going against the surgeons/nutritionist's recommendations. They have them for a reason. They have dealt with hundreds of WLS patients. I would trust their expertise over my own.

My doc is a friend of the family. He told my son, who also had the sleeve, and I to progress at our own speed. I had a folder full of recommendations but started eating chicken and other solids at around 3 weeks. My son started at 5 days. He's 3 years out now and has lost 110 lbs and is maintaining. My doc told me yesterday that I'm above average for a revision patient's weight loss and doing great!

I not saying that what we did is for everyone, but it was for us. Good luck to you!

No, and yes it's bad to do so so don't do it! You can't see your insides, you could do damage. Not worth it, I can almost promise you you don't want to be cut back open. I'm sure your surgeon would frown upon that :)

No. Had to wait four weeks before pureed. Had to work my own plan and have had no issues at all. Defer to your doctor. Why risk complications after you have come this far? Stay focused.
