Drinking Fluids with Full Liquid

Silly question I know, but I'm on Full Liquids and currently eating a nice enchilada creamed soup. It just occurred to me that I'm drinking my water while eating my soup. They're both liquids, so does that matter? Am I washing away my "food"?

With liquids I don't think it matters much. Lord knows I had to wash out the nasty taste of the protein shakes with some water. Once you start on real food you shouldn't drink afterwards for an hour.

You should be drinking your Water either 30 minutes before the meal or 30 minutes after. With your new stomach, if you drink your water while you eat your soup, you are just washing the nutrients you need away and you become hungry quicker.

So, per my surgeon and dietician......no matter what you drink your water 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after your meal.
