i was told to concentrate on getting fluids in the first week and then Protein...also, was told that Protein shakes count towards Fluid goals...so maybe remove a meal and do another shake?

Hi...I am a newbie to this website. I live in Syd Australia & last Wed had my gastric sleeve operation by an awesome Dr. After the procedure the Dr informed me that they also took out a hiatus hernia & recovery could take just alittle longer than normal.
Although in alittle pain around my stomach & back (gas pains) my biggest problem is my fluid intake.
I am finding it very difficult to drink min. 1L of fluid.....I have started my 3 week pureed diet & I am managing 200mls of water (which I find replusive & am very upset by that because I used to drink 2-3L water a day pre-op) a day, alittle jelly, 1 cup of tea (black), half cup of Optifast (meal replacement) & my 3 pureed meals. By bedtime I am forcing myself to drink more fluids to make my 1L min. requirement.
Does anyone else have these problems & how are you managing to keep your fluids up?? Suggestions & idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ????????
