My surgery is Jan 5th...My surgeon said i can take tylenol.

I was told 7 days prior to surgery only to take tylenol. Anything else will thin out your blood and can cause a lot of bleeding and loss of blood during surgery. Trust me, I wasn't thrilled to hear this, I suffer from migraines.

It sounds like a caffeine withdrawal headache - tylenol may help but likely not eliminate it. If you had a big coffee, tea or soda habit before you started, and quit suddenly you will definitely feel it. You might want to ask your doctor if you can take some low doses of OTC caffeine pills (cut them in halves, quarters, etc) to gradually reduce your amount and lessen the withdrawal agony.

Everyone is different, medically I can't stop caffeine, I have had migraines since I was a baby and caffeine helps keep them away. I explained this to the surgeon, 1 cup of coffee in the morning and I'm good. I don't eat breakfast until an hr after my coffee so I was allowed to keep it in my schedule pre and post op. Breakfast is a 2 egg omelet with tomato onions and peppers, soon to be a 1 egg omelet.
