Help!!! I had the lapband surgery last week and am really struggling to get the protein in because the different shakes I have tried taste like crap. Any suggestions on a good protein shake to try?:help:

I like the GNC whey Protein powder, and I mix it with skim milk. The Cookies and cream is my favorite. Sometimes I mix a little (sugar free)Carnation instant Breakfast in too to give it a little sweeter taste. I also mix a scoop of chocolate whey Protein in with sf choc pudding.

Good Luck...I am day 3 and still having trouble getting in enough protein, but I am sure it will get easier.

There is a web site bariatriceating.com that has some really good protein products. I thought they were really expensive until I compared prices and sizes with what I bought at the health food store. And they really taste good. I had a sample of the cookies and cream and it was so good. They carry every flavor you can imagine.

Wow it sounds like we are so similar!!! I struggled with this same thing from the day I had my surgery, after spending hundreds of dollars on different proteins, I posted a thread on here and a lovely lady told me about Optimum Nutritions ANY WHEY ( I got it at GNC) I use it twice a day 17 grams of protein per scoop, I mix it with sugar free carnation and 1% milk, and I am a EXTREMELY picky "taster" and this is very tolerable because the ANY WHEY is tasteless, so all you taste is the carnation, if you like that, if not you can mix it in coffee, milk, juice, yogurt, soups, and there is no taste. A 2 week supply costs 19.95 hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the response. I am now on day 9, went to the doctors today and I lost an amazing 20 pounds. I am so excited. This whole liquid diet for a few weeks is rough, but seeing that scale today made it worth it. Good Luck and keep in touch.

Thank you. Someone had told me about a site but they said it was bariatric edge, and while there is such a site, they don't sell shakes.

unjury is a good and taste smooth. I mix the strawberry sorbet with crystal lite lemondade, and today I used the unflavored one with OJ/lite

I dont lieke the GNC soy at all...it is gritty!!!!!!

Haven't been banded yet(June 18, 2007), but am trying out the protein shakes. Tried Unjury and it is very good but expensive. Has anyone tried Body Fortress Whey Protein from Walmart? It is half the price and it is delicious!
