Sick, hungry, headache

I am on my 3rd day in the liquid diet with very little to eat. Veggies and some fruit. I'm so sick to my stomach and have headache since I started and am hungry also. Is anyone experiencing the same thing or did you? 1/5/2015 surgery date. Not sure I'm gonna make it. I keep thinking there has to be another way,

I'm in the same boat as you downsizingdiva. No food for two weeks prior to surgery. I can have sugar free jello, no caffeine, chicken

Broth, strained soup, protein shakes. On day 3 here. Surgery in 2 weeks.

awesome. I had beef broth tonight, tasted fake, now I'm having sleepy time tea plain, I'm the 15th so I guess a day or so after you! Hope you do great! Keep in touch of you like! Today honestly hasn't been bad, I want supposed to start til the 1st but thought I might as well go ahead

My diet is also 3 weeks. All liquids. No caffeine. Sf jello and broths ok. Must lose 16 lbs

@@Kindle the nurse educator told me when I was doing my pre admission that you aren't hungry after the surgery for at least a few days. Did you find that to be true? Also post op I have the same schedule you do for eating. I haven't broken yet!!! I'm trying to stay strong!!! If you don't mind, can I fill you in during or end of day?

The first 3-4 months I certainly wasn't hungry.....eating and drinking was a chore and i seriously just wished I could spend the day NOT eating or drinking. But by the 6th month, I was getting my appetite back, and between 8-10 months I was just as hungry as ever. The difference is a small amount of protein fills me up. have to be careful of slider foods now because I could eat them all day long.

Day 4 was tough for me. Had to run some errands and skipped lunch shake. Passing my favorite restaurants was torture!! I am happy that I have dropped about 12 lbs already though. It's just a really crappy way to do it!

@@nellita I'm not sure if you are moving too fast. I haven't had my surgery yet. What was the plan your doc wanted you to follow after surgery?

it will all be worth it, a few months from now you will have forgotten all about that silly pre-op diet. I have....

shrinking the liver prior to surgery helps your surgeon.

Exact same feeling! My surgery is also jan 5! I have been on liquid diet since last Monday! I have hardly lost anything which makes it more upsetting! I have not had a coffee since last Sunday and I was getting headaches but I think it was lack of caffeine! It will get better (headache)! Just want the next week to go by fast!

Docgerri, and Samjoesmom, my surgery is also Jan 5th! I haven't been on a liquid diet, but I am on a 1000 calorie diet that consists of Protein shakes and Lean Cuisine since Mon Dec 21st. I haven't lost a pound and I am frustrated too. I am wishing the next 4 days away!
