I'm hearing a lot of people are unable to keep anything down after surgery for the first month and are getting sick. Can many of you that are post op comment on this? My surgery is this coming Monday and I'm getting scared.

I am on my 3rd day in the liquid diet with very little to eat. Veggies and some fruit. I'm so sick to my stomach and have headache since I started and am hungry also. Is anyone experiencing the same thing or did you? 1/5/2015 surgery date. Not sure I'm gonna make it. I keep thinking there has to be another way,

@jbrooks_rn. It might have been me that said I had my family to dinner. I have had 3 parties since 12/26 which was the day I started my liquid diet. I looked at those events as if I had an alcohol addiction would I expect no one to drink and my answer was no. This was a decision that I made. I can't expect everyone to live by my guidelines right now. They are supportive in many other ways, they can't give up their life for me! Good luck with your journey and Happy New Year! My surgery is also in 4 days and not only am I afraid (use to be scared til I received support on here), but I also don't want to lose what I'm able to eat now!!! In the last 48 hours I have bounced back and forth between getting a nutritionist and trainer and then saying I will have the surgery!!!!! My surgery is also in 4 days. I have been at 3 party functions since I started the pre op diet on Dec. 26 and didn't slip but it killed me!!!!!! Today I'm sick to my stomach from the protein shake!!! So I totally understand what you are saying and YOU ARE NOT A DEBBIE DOWNER!!!! Happy New a Year!!!

I want to thank everyone who has traveled this road before and those traveling Thorpe road with me, even though it may be at a different point! @@luvmyseab my surgery is Monday the 5th. 6 day pr op, it's been a struggle, so much I keep thinking I want to cancel and then think I want my health problems to go away! Stay with you can do it!! This website is filled with extremely helpful wonderful people!!

@ I hear ya!!!!!! I also want the next 4 days to fly by! I find out my surgery time for Monday on this Friday! Good luck to you ans Samjoesmom also!!! After our surgery on Monday, we have to reconnect on here!!!!!

@@nellita I'm not sure if you are moving too fast. I haven't had my surgery yet. What was the plan your doc wanted you to follow after surgery?

@SteveLentTruro keep posting on this site! The support system here is unbelievable and with everybody responding has calmed some of my hysteria!!!!! My surgery is Monday.
