Hi guys I had my surgery yesterday and I was released today...it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be... I just wish I could get rid of some of this gas sorry for the TMI.... Other than that it's going pretty smoothly... I'm slowly taking sips of water today and it I can feel it trying to go down my new stomach... Feels kind of weird... I need vice anyone??

Hi, congrats on your surgery. I had my surgery in 2004 and a lot has changed. Here's what I did - you know those little medicine cups they have in the hospital, that's what I started my eating & fluids with. Then I progressed to a measuring cup and used that for portion control until I was able to eat solids & then I used (& still do use) my scale. My tastebuds never seemed to be the same (even now). I attended post-op group meetings and received a lot of info from other post-op patients. Don't have things you shouldn't have-you may tolerate it, but it won't be helpful in the long run. Change your habits now to make them easier to follow after the 'honeymoon' period. Good luck
