Smooth move tea help

Ok so I read somewhere that drinking "smooth move" tea would help keep you regular. Well I've been lucky enough to be regular but I thought oh I LOVE tea so why not (for good measure) so I drank a nice cup earlier and then I decided to look up the reviews on it and now I'm horrified that I'm in for a night of torture! I read reviews like "it caused me to have the worst cramps I've ever had!", "the cramps are worse than childbirth" "I crapped for hours" "I almost shat myself Inside out" (ok maybe not the last one but that's my fear right now, that and having to sit in a quit room taking finals tomorrow!) So has anyone actually drank this stuff? How did it "go". If I don't get any replies I will just go ahead and assume my "hell tea" is true. I seriously considered throwing it up! I don't have time for this nonsense! Tea is suppose to be soothing not a stinking torture device! For FOX Sake!

  • Well after today I'm never drinking it again! I will share it when the in-laws come to visit Ha!

  • Remember the rule of thumb is... never trust a fart.

  • I'm alive!!! Yay! No cramping or anything crazy! I did "go" but just normal, there's not a whole lot in my belly anyway. So glad I could share all my TMI with everyone! Lol! So I think the tea is safe

I had never been constipated as badly as I was during week 3 post-op. Since then, I throw 3 prunes into a daily protein smoothie.... No problems at all. Prune juice should work the same. Glad you didn't have to sleep in the bathtub! LOL

I tried the tea once and while it worked, I did have some minor cramping for a few days. Point is, "your individual mileage may vary" as the saying goes. I use it only when in dire need now. Apparently, going about 4 times a week is my new normal.

  • 3 years later...

I had a cup of smooth move tea 8 days post op and 3 hours later I had full blown dumping syndrome. I'm cleaned out now but this tea was way to aggressive for my system. I would use either caution.

I have a cup every other night....Between my sleeve, seizure meds and transitioning to real foods, it's the only thing that works.

I was severely constipated 2 weeks ago and I will never, ever, ever, suffer that again!!
