Surgery on the 29th!

I'm new to this... My name is Chelsea and I'm having gastric bypass surgery on the 29th. I went to support group last night and when I walked into the hospital, it all became so real. This is where this is happening. My life will change here. I'm 330 pounds right now. My goal is 180. I'm only 24 and I can't remember being under a size 14. I'm scared and excited. I'm mad and sad in a bittersweet kind of way. Sad that the girl looking back at me in the mirror, the girl I've forced myself to love no matter what will disappear.

Does anyone have any advise for settling the nerves pre op?

Thank you!

  • Congratulations and good luck! My only advice would be just try to stay nice and calm through the process. Don't stress!

I am having my surgery on the 29th too ! I have been fighting with my weight for over 40 years. I am so excited and ready. I know it is scary but you can do this. I wish I would have done something in my 20s.

Congratulations! I'm going on my liquid diet on the 16th. Is it hard to eat and drink? I'm worried about dehydration. From support group they say the pain right after is pretty intense. I hope you have a speedy recovery!
