Thankfully I drank only once in a while before so it is certainly easy for me to not indulge ever again if I don't want to. It also helps that my husband has never had a drop in his life. My son is also has not touched a drop in 8 years.

Bariatric patients do not turn into alcoholics, just from having the surgery. However, some replace their food addiction with alcohol so it COULD happen but it doesn't mean that it will for sure.

It is called transfer addiction, it can happen, it's just like people who quit smoking and start eating. I don't think surgery makes anyone do anything. Just monitor yourself snd you will be fine!
