How long before people are returning to work?

i am only one week post op and by doctor Indicated people return after two weeks. I am worried two weeks is two fast. I am feeling pretty good by sleeping tons and still having pain. Also I would Prefer to be back on solid foods when I return. I did do a Short term disability claim so at my doctors whim. What is everyone else doing? Has anyone else done extended disability claims?

  • I took one week off and was back to a full-time desk job without an issue. I was a little tired during the first week, but I wasn't in any pain at all.

I took 2 weeks off and just went back today. It was not too bad everyone is different in recovery good luck on your surgery

I'm only taking a week off. I'm a manager at a cell phone company and we're getting into our busy time of year and I need to be there. I'm a little worried about it but my team is very supportive so I'll be able to take breaks and stay hydrated.

I took 6 weeks off. I have been tired. Lack of protein and my iron. I have to take all vitamins with food now or I get sick to my stomach.

I am only planning to take one week. A little worried it won't be enough but I know others who have only taken a week and did fine. I would still like to hear experiences from others who only took a week off.

3 weeks out I am back at work part time. Not sure I can handle full time yet- really enjoying my recovery. Plan to be back full time next week.

My surgeon required 4-6 weeks off of work. I'm scheduled off for 6 weeks but may consider going back at 4 weeks. I'll see when I get there.

I was only off for a week. I was off pain meds before I left the hospital, and probably could have went back to work two days after surgery.

Now, almost three weeks out, I'm regretting it. I hit my three week stall and along with it came with it was exhaustion. I am EXHAUSTED. I wish I would have stayed home longer. I read though that after the stall is over, your energy comes back.
