Well I just found out that my surgery date is on 12/15/14. I've been a lurker for a while but I guess now that reality has hit, time to become active with questions from veterans. I got my date today and like instantly got nervous. I'm sure I'll have questions as time goes. Got my gall bladder ultra sound set for 12/4 and a pre op 12/9. I'll be off from work for 3 weeks so hope that is enough for a little healing. I'm a police officer so decided it was a good idea to be off a little while.

My insurance required me to visit a dietician once a month for 4 months and also to see a psych doc. It took 2 weeks for approval from insurance...so about 5 - 6 months.

Good luck! Three weeks will be good. The first week is the hardest but remember that everyday gets easier and I promise it will all be worth it!
