This is a question on behalf of my husband who gets sleeved on Tuesday. He is understandably nervous. Anyone know if they had cpap in the recovery room? I know there is a tube down his throat during surgery. Any insights out there? Thank you!

I know that I was instructed to bring mine to the hospital. As far as I know you don't use it during the actual surgery.

I brought my C-PaP to the hospital and never used it. I had oxygen the first night. The next two nights just sort of forgot about it and my O2 levels stayed goo. I think it's because the head of my bed was up. I started using again as soon as I got home.

You can use it when you are in your room and want to sleep. They will have him covered with oxygen etc during the actual surgery and recovery period.

I brought mine and used it for about 2 hours during the night. I ended up getting up several times during the night to walk around on the floor so I didn't bother putting it back on, I would sleep sitting up in my chair in between walking.

I too was instructed to bring my CPAP. I only used it at night. I ended up staying 3 nights. But as far as I know - no need for it during recovery. I did well. My sleeve was 9/16/14

I brought mine as they instructed "just in case", but didn't use it. I had my surgery on outpatient basis, so I didn't have an overnight stay. I used my CPAP the night of my surgery with no issues.
