Just wondering if anyone has been on bcbs IL for insurance and can talk me if they made you jump through any hoops for approval. My surgeon's office made it sound like they just submitted everything after the 6 months and that was that. I asked if I needed a letter from my pcp, they said it wouldn't make much difference and wasn't required. It made me feel like they just know how to submit it so you have a high chance of getting approved (duh, lol) but I wanted to hear from other bcbs IL folks.

My surgery date is 10/14/14, BCBS IL is my insurance provider, I don't have my final approval but I don't expect any problems. Not exactly sure who needed what (Dr. or ins. co.) I had a psychological evaluation, EGD, letter of medical necessity, weight loss history and EKG. My surgeon seemed to think BCBS IL was pretty good to work with.

I also have bc/bs IL and all I needed was a all clear from my primary Dr. And my Cardiologist and a psychiatric report. Of course my primary took exrays of my chest and blood word and my cardiologist took the necessary test that he needed to clear me. That's it! I talked to my patient advocate to make sure that I did not need anything else, she said no and told me that BCBS IL pretty good. So all I am waiting on is the psychiatric report and then then they will turn it in. Hope that helps
