Just got approved today!

Things are really starting to settle in now that I was officially approved for my rny surgery... I am new on here, and I definitely have some anxiety around this surgery, but I'm also really excited about the new me... I've always been a big weight litter and when I was lighter I loved to run and I'm looking forward to getting back took that again... I am worried about the liquid diet and how my body will take this surgery... And how long it will take to feel "normal" again... Anybody with some advice on what they went through would be much appreciated... I know WHY I'm having surgery, but I still can't help feeling a little anxious now that I'm basically two weeks away from the big day...

Welcome and congrats to you all I am 5 months post out and i am during great their are alot of great people on this site that is always willing to help, as far as the liquid diet goes I did not find that hard to do, I was surprise that I was not hungry as far as feeling normal it depends on your body but I can tell you I was up and burning rubber on my iv pole as soon as my surgery was completed and they said I could walk, honestly I believe that I could have went back to work after just 1 week of surgery my recovery has been great and the best thing that I could have done for myself please feel free to ask as many questions as you want we are all hear for you. You got this. I was never a gym bum but I love the gym and go 5 days a week.

The hardest part for me is eating, you are use to eating and i have wasted so much food because I cant eat alot But I have no problem drinking my Water or Protein shakes, dont buy alot of Protein Shakes because your taste will changed. Just try samples.

For the liquid diet, I tried to focus on the excitement of finally being at that stage. That lasted for a day and a half! lol

I was pleasantly surprised by how well I did after surgery. Laporoscopic surgery allows them to do major work while leaving the supporting muscles essentially intact. That made walking much easier, and walking makes everything better!
