Just came back from my Nutrition education class. My surgery is scheduled for the 30th and I was dreading the liquid diet. But I found out that I just dont only have to do liquids I can eat food as well. I have to eat a 1000 calories, 60-80 grams of protein a day and 64oz of fluid. Im excited only 12 days left

great. sounds like a similar diet to what I had for a 3 week pre-op diet. it is a nice transition to the post-op diet stages. I think it helps mentally prepare you. good luck!!!

Same here. I was also allowed extra veggies if I was still full. I lost 10 pounds in two weeks! Look forward to the weight lose.

Any diabetics on a pre-op diet?

Why can't I get this pre-op right?? It seems as though the devil is sabotaging my efforts! I've done plenty of "diets" and was successful, no problems but now, I'm craving chips, chocolate chip cookies and French fries! And I had them:( :( I'm going to need prayer:( I have 8 days to shrink my liver..... Any suggestions?

Im sorry you're having trouble ????...why don't you try to do something every time you get a craving. Im afraid im going to have the same problem with craving foods that I want. You can to it I have faith in you. Good luck

Hang in there! We are all learning along the path we are traveling. None of us are perfect and we are all learning. Part of learning involves making mistakes and moving forward from the mistakes a little wiser than we were before.

I am glad your pre-op diet allows some real food! What a relief to still be able to eat a meal. My pre-op diet is very similar and I am so grateful. My pre op diet allows unlimited vegetables (non-starchy) and one meal following strict guidelines. Keep moving forward and you will get through. One minute at a time!
