Any troubles flying?

I'm 2 weeks post op and might have to go away next week... Just wondering if anyone's had trouble flying with the band? My doctor said it may be uncomfortable with the pressure change? Has anyone flown so close to surgery? Just looking for your experiences :). Thanks!!

For me, flying after bypass has been no problem, but I don't have any experience with the band.

But you may want to re-post this in one of the Band forums instead of here on the gastric bypass side to get the attention of more band folks.

I started flying 3 weeks post-op (RNY) had no complications. The only concern I'd have would be if I developed complications (e.g. a blood clot), I'd be too far away for my bariatric surgeon and would have to deal with that. Also, it's difficult to find something to eat at restaurants... "Could I get that chicken sandwich blended?" :)

I had my surgery in Mexico & flew home 4 days after surgery. It was exhausting but I didn't have any issues. We flew from Puerto Vallarta to Dallas to Indy.

Had surgery 8/26 and flew on 9/06. No problems in flight (very short flight) Now the hike thru airport was an ordeal but I stopped frequently to rest. Was really winded but was looking forward to relaxing at resort.
