  1. Ladypoohbear- Thank you because it's really frightening when you lose so much hair!!
  2. Inner Surfer Girl- I think I might try to increase mine some to & see if it helps hair loss! Thank you so much! Good luck to you as well!!
  3. Mayaresearchmom- thank you! I try to get in about 60grams as well but I was afraid it wasn't enough & contributing to my hair loss. I hope I still have hair left in 2 months- I'm losing a lot each day & my hair is fine & thin to begin with. Ugh! I don't eat very many carbs but I probably need more healthy oils. I also bought a hair & nail supplement to see if it helps! Thanks for the info!
  4. 62 lbs in 4 months.. Very excited! 24% loss so far!! I'm over 1/2 way to my goal!!
  5. Inner Surfer GIrl-- I had surgery in Mexico & back in Indiana now, I just see my family Dr for blood work now- I don't really have a program or anything to follow now. Kind of a lone wolf- lol!!
  6. What amount of protein should I be taking in at 4 months post op? I thought it should be 60-70 grams but I'm still losing lots of hair every day. Would love input.
  7. I had my surgery in Mexico & flew home 4 days after surgery. It was exhausting but I didn't have any issues. We flew from Puerto Vallarta to Dallas to Indy.
  8. I am 3months post op and I have some trouble w/ beef especially in dry grilled burger form. I found that I can prepare it as taco meat & add refried beans & I seem to be able to eat that much easier.
  9. it's normal. my Dr said to use Gas X w/ it because its a common issue.
  10. i'm 10 weeks & down 47 but seems to be coming off very slowly now. haven't moved much in 2 weeks- ugh!
  11. I was out about 7 days but i have a desk job.
  12. Hopefully you get some relief w/ the endoscopy! I know it really helped me! It took a couple of weeks afterwards but I'm starting to eat more foods & able to eat more like I should be at this point post op. Good luck!!!!
  13. Thanks everyone for your feedback! It's great to have others to talk to about this stuff! I started on sublingual this week & drinking The Believe Mocha Latte Protein drinks which have a little caffeine & between those two things I've had more energy this week & felt like a normal person again. Thanks to all!!
  14. Hi! I am doing so much better! I can eat a lot more foods & drink my shakes with ease now. It has made a big difference. My scale has started moving more since I can get more protein in also. They did find a hole inside my stomach pouch on my last endoscopy so I go for an upper GI on Tuesday so surgeon can best figure out how to fix it. It's not major but their afraid if it worsens it will be like I never had the surgery & I don't want all this to be for nothing! I've lost 46lbs & I never want to see those again. Just another bump in my journey but hopefully will be fixed soon. I have no pain or issues so that's a good thing! Keep me posted on what you find out & how your doing!
  15. I started taking the sublingual tablets & it seems to be helping some- have had more energy this week. Thanks everyone!!
  16. I have not been taking anything but my chewable multi vitamin because my one month post op blood work all came back ok. I might try taking it though & see if it helps. Thanks!
  17. My levels were fine at 1 month post op but something has changed because I'm so tired & drained lately. Not sure how often I should be getting blood work done.
  18. I'm 9 weeks post-op & still tire easily & have low energy. I was considering b-12 injections to see if it would help- thoughts?
  19. I think that's a good idea because you need to get relief! I sympathize with you as I've had a similar tough journey! Hopefully we're both close to healthy recoveries! Keep me posted!
  20. Thank you! Now that they dilated my strictures I am starting to be able to eat & drink more so hopefully it will start again. I started using my treadmill & it's amazing how much easier it is now that I've lost 44lbs but just been stuck so hopefully it will start again soon! Thanks for the encouragement!!
  21. I also take a medicine for acid reflux that helps. I know how frustrated you are right now! Stay strong - are you able to drink protein shakes & drink water? I was even having trouble getting water in w/ my strictures! If you can't eat- please make them do the endoscopy because that's not normal & they need to find out what's causing it! Good luck & stay in touch!
  22. I think you should definitely do endoscopy. I am not sure how much they see w/ upper GI. They dilated my strictures during endoscopy & found hernia.
  23. Congrats - you look amazing! Its very encouraging because i started at 250 & i'm at 8 weeks post op & have hit a stall. it's been a rough road so far & i love hearing all the success stories. Any advice to us newbies? i'm down 43lbs so far but 17 was from pre-op.
  24. During my last endoscopy when they dilated a couple of strictures that i had, the Dr found a small hole in my suture line. My surgeon in Mexico tested for leaks the day after surgery & I'm not having any issues right now but they want to do another endoscopy & go in & put on a clip to make it heal closed. I'm looking for guidance because my surgeon in Mexico said he sutured & stapled so what they are seeing is probably a spot on the suture that did not heal closed but the stomach is also stapled closed so unless i was experiencing great pain he really doubts its a hole in the suture line. I would love to hear if anyone else has experienced anything similar.
