Protein shakes should be allowed. You don't get any protein with that other stuff. Unless it's like a day or two day deal. I had to do it for two weeks. I made Protein Shakes in a blender with banana,

Yep.

Are you pre or post op?

O God???? how will I get through this

The protein shakes will get you nice and full along with the water intake.

So your surgeon did not put you on protein shakes? I was on a two weeks liquid pre op diet and my surgeon put me on Bariatric Advantage shakes. Maybe it was an oversight on the sergeon path. Call the office and ask.

Thanx u guys

I'm on day 5 of liquids. Thought I'd lose it yesterday when I had to go into a grocery store but I managed. I have to have 4 Protein Shakes a day for at least a total of 80 grams of Protein. I can have decaf drinks, Crystal Lite, sugar free popsicles, broth (thank God cause it's the only savory thing on the menu). Have to do this for 2 weeks. It's only really hard when I smell what my husband is making for dinner. So I find something else to do and leave the room. Today I cleaned my closet and drawers to keep busy. It was fun. I have all sizes of clothes and I can actually look forward to wearing some of them again. I also got rid of some of my really big things. I could wear them around the house, but I don't think its a good idea for me. I've also been buying smaller clothes a little at a time. Keeps me focused. I have them all together in my closet and I love to check them out every once in a while. I'm just trying to fill my time with positive thoughts until the 23rd. Doing this is a challenge, but one I'm embracing. WE CAN ALL DO THIS!!! Just need to help each other along.

I guess it boils down to how much do you really want this? The sleeve should help make weight loss a little easier but it's still going to be a ton of work, right? I mean once your post op, it's going to be some time until you can get back into regular foods. Think of the liquid diet as your mental and physical prep. I hope I didn't come off sounding like a jerk.

No you didnt .Thank you

HI, I'm almost ready for operation at mid october but I'm really scary about the liquid diet. The other day I was going to get a Cholonoscopy done and I almost die on the day before doing the liquid diet. I've never have a surgery in my life but I really need to do this or I'll get into deep trouble since I'm 400 pounds now. Please I need some support and advice. I'll be doing the sleeve with Dr. Peter Rantis here in Chicago.
