African American vsgers!

  • Popular Post

Hey guys I saw a thread from 2011 that I wanted to continue. I love all of my vsgers but as we know african american women tend to carry weight differently. I would love to follow you ladies on your journey and for us all to support each other.

I was sleeved on September 5th so I'm a week out. I'm doing good so far and feeling better everyday. I stayed at the hospital 3 days mostly because they discovered my allergy to morphine while I was on the pump with a fever and my entire body on fire. But I'm home now and much better. I was just moved to the full liquids stage so I'm pretty happy considering that the liquids stage made me nauseous. I've lost 24 lbs since my surgery so any pain I have is over shadowed by my joy.

Looking forward to hearing from you ladies and seeing some progress pics!

Heyyyy everyone! Newbie here...from upstate NY...recently sleeved on 10/26/15!

Where in upstate are you from. Iam from Fishkill, NY Sleeved 10/7

I'm from rochester, ny....????????????

Hello everyone, I haven't posted anything in a very long time. I was sleeved on September 29, 2014. At the time I was 285, so far I have lost 68 pounds. My body must have reached a plateau, I haven't lost anymore weight. I have tried walking but due to having feet issues I am not able to walk very long. After s few minutes, they start to hurt. Currently I am in a cast for the next 5 weeks due to a stress fracture in my right foot. I do try to drink Water but some days it's not easy. At my job I am on the phone constantly. Other than that I feel good since I have lost weight, I am so glad I made the decision to have the surgery. I am happy with size I am currently. I haven't been this size in 28 years, that was before I gave birth to my third child. I will be 56 this year and enjoying my life, in spite of the cast, lol.

Do you track your food? How many calories do you eat a day? What are your carbs? How much protein do you have a day?

Yes I do! I track everything I eat with myfitnesspal. I eat about 650 calories a day (my nutritionist advised between 500-900). I'm getting between 70-90g of protein everyday.

Perhaps you need to UP your calorie count for awhile. Shake things up a bit. In a week I'll be one year out. I have warbling between 165-172 since last November weigh-in. I went to Las Vegas a week ago and didn't track anything. Came back home and started doing no sugar, or junk food etc. I also did not weigh myself when I came back until today. My weight today is down 10 pounds from the week before the trip. I have renewed energy and feel much better. I know I was obsessing over the numbers on the scale. Just a thought, talk to your NUT about it.

I'm 5 weeks out and 36lbs down. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing because it's working for me. Thank you though.

Has anyone tried ScarFade to get rid of their incision scars? How soon after did you start using? What has worked for you?

My doctor suggested vitamin e oil. I used that at first. All of mine are almost invisible. The one that is dark is dark because they cut right a cross a huge stretch mark. I am going to try bio oil it. Also I used silicon strips, they helped a lot. Not just with fading and healing but also protecting them from clothes and bra.
