African American vsgers!

  • Popular Post

Hey guys I saw a thread from 2011 that I wanted to continue. I love all of my vsgers but as we know african american women tend to carry weight differently. I would love to follow you ladies on your journey and for us all to support each other.

I was sleeved on September 5th so I'm a week out. I'm doing good so far and feeling better everyday. I stayed at the hospital 3 days mostly because they discovered my allergy to morphine while I was on the pump with a fever and my entire body on fire. But I'm home now and much better. I was just moved to the full liquids stage so I'm pretty happy considering that the liquids stage made me nauseous. I've lost 24 lbs since my surgery so any pain I have is over shadowed by my joy.

Looking forward to hearing from you ladies and seeing some progress pics!

Congratulations and welcome to the losers group :-)

Just stick to soups and protein drinks and maybe gatorade. Your sleeve is healing so let it rest. The time will go quickly!

Congratulations on the weight loss sleevediva2! I agree with peekaboo. Just follow the plan and you will be fine. She's right - time flies! Try mixing fruit into your protein shakes. I've changed mine up a little by adding bananas and frozen strawberries or tropical fruit, and have also added sugar free flavor syrups (caramel, peach) and extracts (rum, vanilla), & spices(cinnamon, nutmeg, Apple pie).

Hey all I was sleeved on 3/25. I've heard of the 3 week stall but I'm stalling at 2 weeks , any one else have this issue so early ?

I'm just going into my second week (sleeved April 1st), but although the scale is not moving I wonder if you're losing inches?

I'm about to hit 3 weeks on wed . I started working out when I hit 2 weeks , I'm sure inches are coming off .. but I want the numbers on the scale to move. I've been the same weight for the last 5 days. I hit 14 pounds weight loss before I actually hit my 2 week. Now nothing @@brandnewme2015

Anybody from North Carolina?

I am! I had my sleeve done at UNC just yesterday.
. Yeah Congratulations!!!! I am scheduled for 4/23 @ CMC Mercy.... How are you feeling? We should keep in touch ......

Could be that you are adding muscle if you've been exercising - but I wouldn't be too discouraged if the numbers aren't moving. There are many non - scale victories to be had (more energy, clothes fitting better, etc.) 14 lbs is still a great loss and you will see those lbs melt away in the next several months if you keep up the good work I'm sure. Don't be too hard on yourself and be patient with those numbers.

someone else also said it could be muscle but idk ... your right I do need to be patient , I guess when u see how little your eating your expectation is that the weight should be falling off .

I was just sleeved 4/7/15 and 5 days later I am down 8.5 lbs woohoo!! Seeing the weight come off motivates me, but I do have to admit that I am tired of eating soups. Anyone have an suggestions besides soups and Protein drinks for my next week?

If you are allowed you can add yogurt. or kefir. Honestly the full liquid stage just isn't fun. Just remember it's only a few days.

Step away from the scale. Weighing yourself more than once a week will make you crazy.

Yes!!! That's scale can derail! Focus on over all health.

I was just sleeved on 4/6/15 and I'm having a hard time getting my protein in because of the hiatal hernia repair and staying hungry all the time
