Eating at gatherings

One more potluck and I'll scream! I'm 6 weeks post op and I get tired of eating with others. I'm not hungry for their food but I get lonely eating my shakes or taking baby bites in public. I keep getting sick when I eat with others. Any suggestions?

I didn't eat at gatherings until I was pretty much unrestricted. I just had a bottle of water with me and talked a lot. When I finally started eating I used a solo cup (which tend to be everywhere in the summer) and usually put fruit in it. Then people couldn't see how much or what I was eating.
