STARTING OVER FOR THE LAST TIME

I was banded on August 28,2014. I am on the two weeks of liquids. This part has not been easy. Either the artificial sweetness or something else had caused a lot of gastric issues. Go back to the Doctor on Monday. Hopefully I can progress to something a little heavier.

If you have a Tropical smoothie place near you, maybe you could drink some of theirs? You can have them put in Splenda instead of sugar and add whey Protein. I found them really delicious and filling!!

Good Luck to you!

I dont know what kind of gastric issues you're having, but you might want to look and see if any of your drinks have artificial sweetners in them, some of which can cause intestinal problems. Sorbitol, xylitol etc will cause cramping , loose bowels etc, most people dont realize it until its a Where 's the bathroom emergency ! Even one piece of sugarless candy causes problems with me. Just google "artifical sweetners " for more info. Good luck !

I am sure it is the sweetners, but everything I have for this liquid phase has it in it. It gives me uncontrollable diarrhea with no warning. I called today and dr. told me to take an anti diarrheal which is great, but I would like to know what the culprit is. I have been sticking to water, ice, broth and iced fruit bars. Not very much protein, but I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions.

I think we do have Tropical Smoothie, but the Splenda

would cause the issues. I can use stevia. I wonder if the have that. Thanks for your suggestion.

I'm in the same boat as you and seem to be having issues with this clear liquid diet. I did find ensure clear but I bloat as soon as I have one. My calories have been very low because of it, yesterday I had a whopping 150 calories.
