Getting Water In

1 week post. Getting protein in with Premiere shakes. Water is another story. Nut wants 3 water bottles. I can get about 1.5 water bottles. I'm also eating SF Popsicles. Water is the first ingredient in my protein shake. Do the Popsicles and shakes count towards my water intake?

My surgeon said I can count anything that didn't have caffeine as water. The important part is hydration.

Water, Vitamin Water ZERO. If unit doesn't say Zero than it's got 39 grams of carbs. Where the other one I think is 4 or 5. Those water flavorings you squirt in your water are good. 0 calories and 0 carbs. Good luck to you.

Something that helped me early on was to break up the fluids and shakes into manageable amounts. My NUT suggested that I drink 4 ounces of water on the even hours of the day and 4 ounces of protein shakes on odd hours of the day. At day's end you have 32 ounces of protein shake and 32 ounces of fluids.

@@macman, I like that tip! Thanks!
