Love the new colors, the wide bands and the link to new posts.

Don't mind the ads at all, but I do HATE them on the left. I

have to keep scrolling over to the right to see the posts on screen.

This is just a waste of time. Can't the ads be move back to the right?

As to the image at the top, seems cliche and a bit exclusionary...

a pretty, white young woman. Twenty years ago I was that image

myself; but I don't think it adds anything to the site.

But I really applaud the changes and willingness to try different

things. Most are fine, but they also need to be user friendly.

If you all would like to have the image removed at the top and if thats what the majority of you all prefer I will make it happen.

I am also working on a solution for those of you who prefer the ads to be on the right side of the page.

I will keep you all updated!

Actually I like the gal at the top! She's cute, has a great smile, and when I come on it makes it look like a really friendly place to come! I vote keep her! I would like the ads on the right though!

It would be nice if there was a small "before" picture of her. I think there are enough "model quaility" bandsters on the board that maybe we can have one of our own up there.

She's just a nice gal relaxing next to our logo. The logo is a little boring so we figured a little sex appeal never hurt anybody ;-)

I'm going to make some changes to the advertisements but before I do that I want to understand WHY the ads on the left are bothering you ? Do you have to scroll the screen horizontally ?

They don't bother me, then again I'm running 1600x1200. I wonder if it's partially a matter of resolution for those it does bother?

My resolution is set to 1400 x 1050 and it's fine for me. What's everyone else running ?

My guess is that most people are looking at 800 x 600, and in that view the screen is too narrow to accommodate the ads without scrolling.

Personally, I couldn't care less about the girl at the top – though I think it’s valid to say she’s not all that representative of Lap Band.

The ads on the left are fine for me in reading the actual posts (1024x768). It’s when I go to past an advanced reply that things get all catawampus. My window, even scrolled all the way over, no longer shows all the emoticons – but more importantly, I can’t get over to the spell-checker!! Egad! I don’t know if the ads being on the left are the contributing factor in the screwy advanced editor setup, or if anybody else has the same problem.

Oh, and I have seen other posts about the weird smiles and <p> characters that appear when trying to go back to edit an already submitted post! Everything gets all messed up when all I wanted to do was correct a typo that remains because I can’t get to the spell-checker! What’s up with that?

Another thing I saw someone mention was no longer being able to change the username. I never thought about doing that, but I guess other people miss the feature.

I do like having our screen names & data down the side of the posts, rather than across the top. Change is good, even if I’m usually slow to embrace it!

Sex appeal... so since we're mostly women, I vote that this little chunk of sex appeal gets put up instead:

What about a cartoon character to replace the girl? You could have a before and after that would be eye-catching, appropriate to the purpose of lap banding, and not offensive to anyone.

I had to scroll before I changed my resolution.

As for the girl, I don't have strong feelings either way, but I do think if you are going to have a "real person" up there, it should be a Bandster. People with weight issues are VERY touchy about misrepresentation. We've all seen a ton of those fraudulent ads with fake "before" and "after" photos....."I lost 100 pounds effortlessly - while I slept". You don't want Newbies to think she's a Bandster if she's not.
