The ol' straw debate. Do you use one?

So im a few days post op and am having a hard time getting all my fluids in. Before the sleeve, I basically ONLY drank from a straw. I have a million reusable cups with straws in my house and always used to drink tons of liquids. Now, im struggling to get 24 oz of Water in!

So, Im wondering if I should try using a straw and see if it helps. But Im afraid its going to give me gas and therefor hurt! I dont want anymore pain! lol

So, if you use a straw, when did you cave and try it? Should I just go for it or be a good patient and not use it?

We were told it was OK. Just make sure to control your "sips". It's more a matter of drinking too fast, or too much at once.

Some people practically chug when drinking through a straw. Just be mindful. Straws are fine.

Also, I've been using a straw with my shakes since I got home from the hospital. No issues.

BTW I have found that using a smaller straw keeps me from taking in too much at a time. JMHO
