Sugar!

I'm not much of a Pop drinker, but I love coffee. I'm starting to really cut things out before the surgery. Is there a health alternative to sugar?

I use Stevia or Truvia in my coffee. They are both (mostly) all natural, derived from leaves. If you go to a health food store they have them in flavors (french vanilla, english toffee, strawberry, chocolate and bunches of others). I don't like splenda, it leaves a nasty taste and I try to stay away from sweet-n-low and the blue stuff.

I love monkfruit. It's at the grocery store, called either monkfruit in the raw or nutrisse It has been used in China for decades as a treatment for diabetes and tastes great.

I too am spending my 6-7 month wait gradually introducing changes in my eating. This my third month, I have decided to go sweetless on coffee. I hate artificial flavoring as well as stevia. I am only on day three and it is hard. Coffee with natural sugar or flavoring so has been my evening dessert for a while. I know I will adapt but I really think this will be one of the hardest changes for me.
