Mexico Bariatric Center

I am scheduled to have my surgery 9/12/14. My surgeon is Louisiana Valenzuela. Any other sleevers have an experience with Mexico Bariatric Center and Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela? Anyone scheduled for the same date? I will be travelling alone and would be interested in a buddy.

Hi @@MeganC! Good luck with your surgery and I would love to be buddies! I am struggling with this pre-op diet. I am sooo hungry! I don't know what I am going to do! I'm trying to stay busy so I don't think about eating but its hard. How are you doing with your pre-op diet? I am so excited. I have never travelled by plane or been outside of the country. A lot of firsts for me and I am doing them alone. I super ready for this experience. I feel this is the start of a new life for me!

I am very lucky I have a lower BMI (38.8) So I only have a 9 day pre-op diet.. I start next week, I know is sucks lol because I have been replacing 1-2 meals a day with protein drinks for the last week to get ready. I got major headaches the first few days but now its better. I am also trying to eat healthier like cream of wheat, salads, fruit and home made soups to get in to the habbit.. God I sure miss my ice caps and chips right now lol but its all for the best. Good luck to you too ! Ill make sure to message you right after surgery for an update.

Yes, I had the worst headache today. Today is just my second day. I'm trying to stay positive and motivate myself. Everything looks good and I want to eat any and everything. I think its more about me feeling restricted than anything. I gotta work that because I want to be successful. Please keep me updated!

I have a question about the pre-op diet. I am having the sleeve with MBC in December, and since my BMI is only 30, my pre-op diet is for 5 days, and then just clear liquids for 2 full days prior to surgery. So if I have it right, that is 7 days of pre-op, between the low carb/calorie 5 day, and then the 2 days of clear liquids only...does that sound like what your instructions were?

That sounds about right. With a BMI of 38, Im doing 6/3 with a laxative on day 6 before clear liquids. The 6 day pre-op is 2-3 Protein shakes a day and one low carb low fat low sugar meal per day ie. salad, chicken brest vegies etc. When you book your surgery they should send you a package detailing your diet.

Hope this helps :)

Thank you, Megan, that is very helpful! I can't wait to hear about your experience and results, and hope you'll post about it. Sept 8th will be here before you know it. So excited for you!

Thank you. I will make sure to update you through this post with my progress!
