  1. I was sleeved on 9/12/14 in TJ Mexico. I have no complaints regarding my surgery or the care I received. I don't remember much about recovery except I removed the oxygen every time the nurses placed it on my face. The smell of the oxygen intensified my nausea. Other than that, I don't remember anything about my recovery. Later, I woke in my room and I was in and out. My surgery was around 9am and I didn't get up and walk until later that evening. I had a lot of gas pain which was expected. Every day has been an improvement. I have been focused on getting my water, protein and vitamins in. I am excited about this journey and this new lifestyle. I look forward to watching my body change.
  2. I'm scheduled for 9/12/14. I am getting more nervous each day.
  3. My surgery is scheduled for 9/12/14....super excited!
  4. Congratulations on a successful surgery! My surgery is scheduled for 9/12/14. I am from Gastonia, NC and I will be traveling to Tijuana, Mexico to have my surgery. I am excited and ready to start this new chapter in my life.
  5. I pray you are feeling better. I am interested in a local support group. I live in Gastonia, and I will be having my surgery 9/12/14.
  6. My surgery is 9/12/14, and this thread has really helped me with making a list of things I need for my trip. I am flying to Mexico and will be in the hospital for 2 days and another day in the hotel after surgery. Should I pack all of my vitamins for the trip?
  7. Is this group still active?
  8. I signed up as a loyal customer for three months and I would not recommend their products. I was skeptical and I should have trusted my instinct. The results from the wraps are temporary and you must drink a LOT of water while wearing them. You can flush excess cellulite by drinking water without the wraps. The hair, skin, nails made my face break out. The greens taste horrible. You would come out better buying Green Superfood or juicing. I didn't try the protein because by looking at the nutritional facts, it's not worth the time. Save your money.
  9. Take one day at a time and you will make it through. I felt the same way. The first three days were tough, but I stayed focused on my ultimate goal. Also, I have a good friend who started the pre-op diet with me for moral support. Stay busy and you won't think about eating. After a few days, it gets much easier.
  10. I'm scheduled for 9/12 & I'm going to Tijuana. My surgeon is Dr. Valenzuela with Mexico Bariatric Center.
  11. Thanks for the share! I will be trying this recipe when I am post-op.
  12. Hi! I'm Raven and I'm scheduled for sleeve on 9/12. I started my pre-op diet 5 days. I would love to join you guys on fb and instagram. My instagram is raven_arthur_rn and my fb is Raven Arthur.
  13. My surgery date is 9/12 in Tijuana as well. My surgeon is Dr. Valenzuela with Mexico Bariatric Center. Who's your surgeon? I'm on day 5 of my pre-op diet and it has gotten easier. I don't have as many cravings and I'm not as hungry as I usually am. Just take one day at a time and you will make it through this.
  14. September 12! I'm happy, excited, and hungry lol! Today is Day 3 of my pre-op diet.
  15. I am scheduled with Dr. Valenzuela at MBC on 9/12/14. It is good to hear that your friends had a great experience. So far I am pleased with the process and I am looking forward to the surgery.
  16. Hi! I'm Raven from Gastonia, NC (outside Charlotte). I graduated from nursing school December 2013. Right now, I'm working two jobs. My full time position is at a PRTF working with young children. My part time position is with a home health company. I haven't really decided if I want to stay in those fields. I loved OR while in nursing school and thought I would be working in that field. I am happy with my positions for right now and enjoy being a nurse. My surgery is scheduled for 9/12/14 in Tijuana Mexico with Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela. I have never been on a plane or out of the country but I'm excited about the process. I started my pre-op diet yesterday and I'm struggling. I'm trying to stay busy so I won't think about but its hard.
  17. I haven't told many people and I don't plan to right now. My mom, fiance, older kids and a good friend. I don't need any negativity prior to surgery. I told the ones that matter. After surgery when I start losing weight, I will tell others. I know they will want to know what I'm doing to lose weight and I'm not going to lie about it.
  18. Yes, I had the worst headache today. Today is just my second day. I'm trying to stay positive and motivate myself. Everything looks good and I want to eat any and everything. I think its more about me feeling restricted than anything. I gotta work that because I want to be successful. Please keep me updated!
  19. Thanks for the recipe. I am going to try it tomorrow. I am hungry all the time. I'm not sure if its because I feel restricted or what.
  20. Congratulations and best of luck on your surgery! I am very determined to succeed and ready to start this new journey.
  21. Yes, my surgery is scheduled for the 12th. Who's your surgeon? I have a very high BMI. That's why I was told to start now.
  22. Hi @@MeganC! Good luck with your surgery and I would love to be buddies! I am struggling with this pre-op diet. I am sooo hungry! I don't know what I am going to do! I'm trying to stay busy so I don't think about eating but its hard. How are you doing with your pre-op diet? I am so excited. I have never travelled by plane or been outside of the country. A lot of firsts for me and I am doing them alone. I super ready for this experience. I feel this is the start of a new life for me!
  23. I am scheduled to have my surgery 9/12/14. My surgeon is Louisiana Valenzuela. Any other sleevers have an experience with Mexico Bariatric Center and Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela? Anyone scheduled for the same date? I will be travelling alone and would be interested in a buddy.
