My journey 8/14

Hi! I'm just 4 days post surgery, but I'm feeling great! I've struggled with my weight for many years. After I quit smoking 10 yrs ago I gained roughly 50lbs over the next 5 years. I also had major stressors going on in my life. I bought my first home and within days my daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Being an emotional eater did not help! I started debating about weight loss surgery roughly 4years ago. I attended the seminar and then "chickened out". I wonder if my life would be different had I stayed strong and had the surgery. Two years ago, at the age of 39, I had a heart attack. Genetics played a part, but the biggest factor was my weight. Since the heart attack I've yo-yo'd with 20lbs, but haven't kept it off. I also had a stint put in last year. My daughter is now in college and struggles with weight and keeping her blood sugars level. I want her to live a healthier life and hope I can be here to inspire and help her.

Hi, can you please keep me posted, I'm starting to chicken out. I was going to do it last Christmas but chickened out, now I'm starting to have second thoughts.. I'm nearly 53, will my age be a downfall, how sick will I be, I have to return to work a week after surgery, will I be ready? YIKES!

So I received a call from my dr today. My liver biopsy shows that I have NASH (fatty liver). I have an appt with a specialist on Wed. I'm freaking out a bit. Has anyone else been through this?
