This time maybe

Long time (mostly lurker) member here :) I just did the whole seminar thing (again -_-) and have requested an appointment. I'm hoping I can start this journey by the end if the month. I've finally got insurance that will make it a possibility! I've have been trying for 6 years (actually more like 10 but I was told I was too young 10 years ago) now to have bariatric surgery, however, it just hasn't been in my cards. I'm hoping my surgeon will be able to get me in mid December (though if he tells me he can get me in in October I won't hesitate!).

I am currently 26, I am 5'2" and 325 which gives me a whopping BMI of 59! I don't have any co-morbidities (yet!) but I'm sure if I wait any longer they are just around the corner. I have tried dieting over and over and over agin but always gain back, I've lost up to 60 pounds only to gain back another 80. My weight has gotten to a point where I can no longer do things I want...specifically horseback riding...I've got a herd that I can no longer romp around on. I also love going on mission trips but the flights are uncomfortable both physically and emotionally and then I have a hard time keeping up while on them and being a productive member.

A year ago I was looking at doing the lap-band, my main reason was I am terrified of having my innards cut to pieces but over the last year I have gotten the chance really look at statistics. I don't want a second surgery, I want one and be done with it, looking at the statistics the LB will more than likely require another at some point. The second thing I looked at was potential weight loss. I can loose twice as much with RNY, the band won't give me near as much weight loss potential as I need.

Anywho, wish me luck, send me prayers, and I look toward to sharing my story as it unfolds :)

My name's Natasha too! Yesterday was hell... Not going to lie I cried and asked multiple times why I was doing this. Today has been better. I'm still dealing with a lot of gas/burping. But I'm getting through it.

How are you doing?
