I was sleeved a week ago and I was prescribed omeprazole capsules. I hate the east of breaking it open so I was wondering if it would be ok to take the whole thing with water?

My surgeon ok'd me to take my tegretol once I got home. They are about the size of an aspirin tablet. I had no problems, but I was a bit nervous at first.

The multivitamin my nutritionist suggested is a capsule, not a chewable, and I'm allowed to start taking them again one week post-op.

I had the same prescription and had to do that too. It was horrid.. Basically, it's what I imagine eating a silica packet would be like. My surgeon gave me the ok to take pills whole 2 weeks post-op. I had to suffer with that awful bitter taste until then.. As with anything else, different surgeons have differing opinions on when it's ok to take whole pills after surgery. Some make you wait longer than others.. The only way to know what your surgeon thinks is to call their office and ask. The good news is, no matter what, you won't have to do it forever!
