Newbie questions

There are several posts about the diet just prior to surgery for liver purposes, but what about prior to that?. I just started the process and have seen my Nut twice. She has me eating a high protein diet, taking vitamins and supplements, cutting soda and caffeine, juice, or anything else considered empty calories. I am doing well with it all but just wondered if others had to do this too.

I had my first visit yesterday, and the doctor would like his patients to lose some weight before surgery tohelp reduce some fat around our organs to make surgery easier and get us use to the new eating plan afterwards. hope this helps

Same with me, my NUT asked me to try eating high protein/low card and phasing out caffeine and soda ahead of time. She explained that it was to get me to start adjusting to life after surgery. Good for you that you've been able to stick with it!!

My nut didn't ask me to but I modified my diet pre op to prepare for the 2 week pre op diet

All my nut asked me to do was start practicing slow eating, definitely cut sodas which I had done so last year and that was it.
