Are you chewing properly and eating slowly? I ate some tuna really fast one day a couple of weeks back and I thought it going to kill me. Eating shouldn't be painful. I would contact my surgeons office. The may want to put you back on the soft food or liquid phase so your tummy has more time to heal. You never specified how far out surgery you are.

I just went through the same thing buy baby spoons and eat super slow. I was taking too big of a bite and too fast and was having excruciating painful cramps and I'm almost 3 weeks post op! Good luck!
