Wow, you're so close!

I'm not a preop dieter yet with 8 or so weeks until my surgery date. It feels like I should be dieting or something though. Feels kinda weird not having anything do to but wait

Best of luck to you!

Yup - I remember being in that position of just waiting....:notagree

What helped me was becoming active here on the boards and reading and learning all I could to have realistic expectations of what was to come.

Don't worry the time will pass and before you know it you will be on the pre op diet as well!

I am pre-op dieting as well. I have to lose 13ish lbs before they can submit to insurance.....so far doing good, but I always do lousy on the weekends. I am going to try really hard this weekend to be good

This is my first posting!

I start my pre-op diet on Monday. I know what you mean LMCHP about waiting. So bizzar.

Starting to get a little nervous, but also excited.

And you are an inspiration MsRobby! Thanks for the encouragement!

I am pre-op dieting also! My doctor has me on a whey protein diet. I don't even have a surgery date yet. But, the diet is working. I feel better already.

Good for you! It always boosts my self esteem to see that scale go down. Now I am hoping once I am banded it will stay there!

today was a bad day for me. My head was hurting and i couldn't even get the yogurt to pass my lips.

On the bright side, I have driving lessons on Monday :)

6 more days

And you will get throught them!

I'm am on my 4th day of Optifast. It's going pretty good. Had a bad headache to start out with that seems to be subsiding now. I'm getting very excited about the surgery, just want to get it done so I can get on with it. I have read so much about banding that I really, really, really want to live it. I'm sooooooo ready!

I've noticed in the last couple of days that I feel released by food. I feel like it no longer has me in it's control. Great feeling!!

:)

i started diet april 24th...so that means i'm day 5. I've been fasting for the past 4 days, because i find it easier to not eat than eat another bite of yogurt or cottage cheese. I am SO hungry, i could eat anything, i'm basically sleeping to not be hungry...cant wait to be banded!!!!!!

It is very important to maintain your regular pattern of eating. Remember you are trying to start a healthy way of eating post banding.

I lived on the yoghurt and jello because I couldn't look at the CC. Eat 3, 4 or 5 yoghurt for each meal if you want. Snack with the jello. If you really need it you can have some boiled or baked chicken. You must eat though. After all this time you don't want them to cancel your surgery do you.

I had to lose 10% of the post op weight for my insurance to approve the procedure. It helped me get a clear idea of portion size and "good" food choices. I was banded on April 3 and since I started this I lost my 13 lbs pre-surgery, by the time I had my surgery scheduled I was down 20 and total weight loss now is 33.5 lbs. I very happy with my decision to have this procedure done and am looking forward to being a size 10 again. The surgery was a breeze and recovery was great. Nothing out of the ordinary except the left shoulder pain. My Dr. even fixed my hernia while he was in there. No more acid reflux yeah. :clap2:
