Portion size

I've been banded for almost 7 weeks now. Everything is going well and I've lost about 40 lbs. I haven't gotten a fill yet and I think I can continue at this same pace for a while without getting a fill. The only thing that scares the crap out of me is portion size and stretching my pouch out and missing my band up. Sometimes I feel like there is to much on my plate and I want to try everything that is at the meal. I need a rule of thumb for portion size for non-fill banders.

Every doctor is different. My doctor doesn't want me eating more than a half a cup at one sitting. Although, after I got in the green zone it's very hard to even eat a half a cup. More like a third of a cup now. In my first months of being banded, I could eat 1 1/2 cups at one sitting. That was with 0-3 fills.

Hi. Look up the "The eight golden rules" by Dr. Paul O'brien on youtube. Then watch "Rule # 4." Hope that helps some. I'm new to this also. Good luck.
