Hello,

You gotta do your own research and decide what's best for you. Go through the threads here, as you will find loads of information. I also encourage you to check out other forums for those who had the bypass.

Don't let anyone tell you what's best for you regarding your decision. You are the one who will have to live with the band or the bypass. You know your own body and what you are capable of. You are the higher authority of yourself - so only you can decide.

I wish the best during your decision making process!!!!

Doctors are human, and have bias too........ get another opinion.

My doc blatantly says he never liked the RNY procedure.. he explains all 4 WLS's in his seminar, but he does the Band almost exclusively.

The things that helped me make my choice to get banded. The lap band is completely removable. Problems? It can come out. Not what you expected? It can come out. Don't like it anymore? It can come out. Want more restriction? You can get it filled. Want less restriction? Have an unfill. I love these things about it. Recovery time is so much less than bypass. The scars are smaller with laproscopic. The other weight loss surgeries don't have options. This is just an opinion. Hope it helps.
