Band removal

I was banded Dec 2010 and was successful at losing weight however, I just had my band removed because it kept slipping. During surgery they found that my band was embedded into my liver so that is why everything had to be removed. Has anyone had problems or heard of this happening?

I've not seen erosion into the liver? How can that happen if it's sewed into the lining of your stomach? Anyway, there's a band revision forum over on the sleeve forum and almost all of them had the band and then revised to another WLS and some are still in limbo after removal.

Wow!!! I too was banded in Dec 2010; however, I haven't had any problems with my band. I'm just curious to know how could it have possibly slipped from your stomach all the way down to your liver????? I'm sorry to hear that and am glad you were able to have it removed.
