Am new having surgery RNY tomorrow. Is it proper to discuss how much weight you have lost on this forum? Doesn't seem like folks talk about it. Any body want to give me a guesstimate about what I might be looking to lose in the first 8 weeks?

I don't think it's easy to guess how much you will lose

Every single one of us is different and there is no way to answer this question.

Each one of us has a different metabolism.

It depends on how active you are after surgery.

How well you follow your surgeons and nutritionist guidelines.

I also depends on how much you have to loose.

A lot of variables.

I will say good luck to you tomorrow and keep us updated on how you are progressing.

As others have already mentioned, each of us is different and will lose at a different pace.

I've read posts about people having lost close to 60 pounds in the first two months. I've also met others in my support group who were more in the 15-20 range. I was somewhere in the middle having lost around 40.

I always look at people's tickers or just at the tiny bit of profile info to the left of a persons posts. It usually says.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
