  6. So my surgery is this tuesday! Holy moly! I am having gastric bypass in THREE days...it's insane to wrap my idea around that statement. I feel like the past 7 months have totally flown by. Feeling nervous but at 22 years old and weighing 280 lbs I am so so ready to enjoy my new life. I've been overweight for the past 18 years and I cannot wait to experience all the things I should be able to. Any tips, tricks...words of encouragment...whatever is welcome Also a quick question: On monday I was told only Clear liquids. Do you think Isopure would be acceptable? It has 40g Protein per bottle but it is a clear liquid so I figure that would at least give me something sustainable in my system while I'm at work. It's the weekend or I would call my doctor.
  7. Yay!! Congrats to you. We are a week apart in surgery dates!
  8. Lol I wish I had that problem. I've hated it all along. I'm still on the preop liquid diet. I can't even imagine how I'll feel on the post op liquid diet. How far out are you?
  9. Today is day 6/14 for me. Yesterday was ROUGH. I mean really bad. Today is much better! Good luck to you
  10. Me with my liquid diet. I just don't want any of it. Yuck yuck yuck
  11. I'm following this topic. RNY is scheduled for 11/25 and I have a two and a half year old at home. She's such a handful and wants to constantly be held. Not sure I could stand spending a full week away from her though..
  12. Hi all! Surgery is in a short 11 days and I'm feeling much better about it all. I'm sure this will all be an emotional rollercoaster but as of now I'm excited to be on the losers bench! 14 day optifast diet is actually going so much better than I expected. It's the end of day 3 and I'm feeling really great!
  13. I got a gallon in yesterday and I'm going to try to do the same today. Hoping my body just needs time to adjust and that ill start to feel better soon
  14. I've really set my mind to this. I'm not going to cheat. I really want this surgery to be a success and I know this is the first step to being on the right path. How much did you lose during those two weeks?
  15. I'm on Optifast. 5 shakes and 2 bars a day. Today is day one and my stomach is totally killing me. its that really terrible ache you get when you're really hungry and you start to feel nauseous. ugh...13 days to go.

  21. I got a call today that I was approved for surgery. I start optifast on Monday and go in on the 25th for my RNY. This is everything I've wanted for years now. I've got it in the palm of my hands and I'm terrified all of a sudden. Yes, I WILL go through with it because I've put in so much time and gone through so many hoops to turn back now but holy cow...I'm so scared. This will be great for me in the long run. I can do this.....(?)
  22. Wow! It literally sounds like I wrote this. everyone is totally in shock I really went though with the ENTIRE process this time and that I'm actually getting surgery. Just waiting on my insurance approval at this point. It was submitted today! Good luck to you on your journey
