Hi everyone!! I just wanted to introduce myself that way I'm not a complete lurker/creeper! I just had my consult with my surgeon today. At first I was going for the lap band but after speaking with the surgeon I decided that this is the best way for me to go! I hope to find out more about my benefits tomorrow! I had my psych eval today and was cleared from him.. one hoop down many to go!

Hey there Jamie! Man seems sooo far away when I first started like you now I'm set to have my gastric sleeve surgery July 21st! Im guessing your going thru insurance like me. It can be exhausting but hang in there it comes quicker than u think. I'd love to be your friend! I can keep ya updated when I have mine so you'll know what to expect

Welcome!!! I'm new here too. I'm private pay & got all my preop appointments done in 2 weeks, started my preop diet today, & surgery on July 9th!!! Nervous & excited at the same time!!!

Oh my gosh that is so exciting!!! What is your pre op diet like? Are you also in Texas?

Yes! I'm in central Texas!!! I'm on a 2 week liquid diet ... 3 protein shakes a day, sugar free jello & Popsicles, broth, crystal light, and water.

I'm in south Texas- Laredo. So I'll end up having my surgery in San Antonio.

I'm not looking forward to the 2 wk liquid diet. I'll be crunching on ice just to get the chewing sensation.
