soda

I've been sick for 4 days and literally haven't been able to keep anything down. I stopped eating yesterday and was rewarded with the dry heaves tthis morning (sorry). So I got a bottle of ginger ale and sipped about 4 oz of it. The vomiting.diareah has stopped but I feel like there's a weight in my stomach. I was going to try Tums but thought I'd try here first...

I don't know when your surgery was exactly...but I'd call a dr...either your primary, or your surgeon to make sure you are ok.

They do suggest actual ginger slices instead of ginger ale to help with stomach problems... but please call your doctor...

Hope you feel better soon

My doctor told me to avoid all carbonated beverages after the surgery and beyond because it will cause your new stomach to stretch out therefore ruining it. I would contact your surgeon for some nausea medication like Zofran, it comes in a dissolvable pill form.
