I was still in the hospital when the nausea and than dry heaves started. I was given anti-nausea medication IV and now have a prescription for nausea. I have had to use it a couple of times this past

Are you taking the anti-nausea meds they recommend? I've seen other people have this problem and you really don't want to be dry heaving or throwing up so soon after surgery. It can damage the sutures holding the band in place.

I was still in the hospital when the nausea and than dry heaves started. I was given anti-nausea medication IV and now have a prescription for nausea. I have had to use it a couple of times this past year. one thing I never want to do is vomit while my band is restricting. the thought scares me. so call your doctor and let him know. I am sure he will prescribe something for you

Thanks for the tip. I am one week post op for the lap band. Felt pretty good for 3 days after surgery. Now I get the dry heaves at nite and it is really uncomfortable. This is the July 4th weekend so I am sure no one is around but i will contact my Dr. on Monday for nausea medication - great idea. Thanks.
