Sorry if tmi but I was just wondering when I should expect to have a BM? I am 1 week post op and no sign that it's near but it's so strange for me.. I'm used to being a once a day kinda girl. ????

U should have gone by now. U should contact your surgeon and he could write u a script for colace stool softener. I'm supposed to take them daily but since I been on regular foods I haven't needed to take them. 1 week post op I had the opposite problem, I suffered from severe diarrhea then the week following extreme constipation. It's just your body trying to adapt to your new diet. Drink plenty of water and in the mean time take something over the counter

My surgeon recommended Peri-Colace, which is available over the counter.

I'm 9 days post op and it took me a week, Milk of Magnesia worked for me alsoo. Try not to strain, I think I may have and my stomach was sore right above my belly button for two days now. I wonder if this is common, if any one knows?

I also suffered horribly from constipation after my surgery. My saving grace has been fiber gummy supplements. I take 2 a day and voila! :) I've been where you are but it gets better!
